Being home for the holidays gave me an excellent opportunity to take some lovely photos of my family. I may be a little biased, but I think they're a good looking bunch.

This holiday season was a rather special one because my little sister got engaged to her boyfriend of 6 and a half years! So she got the opportunity to tell most of our family in person.
The best reveal was to my cousin Kelly, who is a doctor. My dad walked over to Kelly and told her to look at Kristine's finger. Kelly assumed that her medical skills were needed and started asking what was wrong with it. It took a good 30 seconds or so for her to realize it was the fact that there was a ring on it that she was supposed to be paying attention to. I was able to take a few pictures of all the congratulations and of the happy couple. Every Christmas Eve is spent with my mom's father's side of the family. I have 8 little cousins on that side, ages 14 and under, and boy are they a riot to shoot. We don't get the chance to get together very often, but still they are all comfortable enough with me to at least not hide from the camera, and at most completely perform for it.
I love all the energy of Christmas Eve with kids. It is just magical. And makes for some really fun photos. My very good friends Chrissy and Ben spending their first Christmas together as a married couple. Aren't they cute?
Whoops, I may be a little late on posting this, but oh well. My family gets a real tree each year. Always a big one, all the way to the ceiling. This year we decided to not only go with tall, but also fat. We're rather funny about our process, but we have a lot of fun doing it. These are some photos I snapped while my family was searching for our Christmas tree this season.
Every year, for the past 38 years, my mom has thrown a christmas party. Once you're invited you're always invited so the party has become quite the event. This year I tried to make a point to capture some of it. Our dog Tudor was a little overwhelmed by all the people. This is the boys admiring Matt's ugly Christmas sweater, which depicted a T-Rex eating reindeer. They, of course, thought it was amazing. My parents, the hosts :) Here are friends looking through my parent's wedding pictures. These last two were taken somewhere close to 3 AM, obviously not by me since I'm sitting there having a martini. We were still having a ball.
